We are looking for a HR Generalist to join our team. The primary focus of the role is to provide coaching and guidance to Innovatia managers and employees on issues related to people management and the interpretation and application of HR policies and programs. The HR Generalist will engage with management to understand people plans and strategies and will become involved in the delivery of strategic initiatives and core HR programs to enable the overall business strategy.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate the communication and delivery of core HR programs, including Performance Planning and Management, Employee Development, Succession Planning, Employee Engagement, Role Profiling and Health & Wellness
- Provide consultation to the workforce on the interpretation, application, and adaptation of HR programs, policies and procedures
- Counsel on people issues, recommending solutions and assisting in the implementation of these solutions
- Work with management to understand business unit objectives and contribute to implementation of people related continuous improvement initiatives
- Counsel employees and managers on issues that may arise
- Escalate issues to Senior Leadership or engage appropriate resources when additional expertise is required
- Support the recruiting requirements of the business
Qualifications
- 3-5 years HR Generalist experience
- Post-secondary education or designation in Human Resources considered an asset
- Knowledge of applicable federal and government employment standards and legislation
- Ability to build strong working relationships
- Coaching and negotiation skills and experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Analytical thinking coupled with strong business acumen
- Working with global teams considered an asset
