Intermediate Accountant
We are currently looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join our team in Hartland, NB. The Intermediate Accountant will work closely with the Controller and CFO supporting the organization’s financial objectives, policies, accounting practices, maintenance of its financial records, and the preparation of financial reports.
Requirements:
- University Degree with specialization in Accounting/Finance
- Minimum 2 – 4 years’ experience in an accounting role
- Desire to pursue the CPA designation, or currently enrolled in the CPA program considered an asset
- Experience in job costing and costing flows considered an asset
- Understanding of computerized accounting systems
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Accuracy and attention to detail while working under tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with internal departments and key business partners
- Works well independently and in a team environment
- Ability to follow through and complete overlapping projects
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
- Ability to think critically to resolve organizational objectives

Job Duties:
- Assistance with month-end closing procedures
- Assisting with preparing monthly financial statements
- Preparation of weekly and monthly reporting to management
- Third-party reporting – taxation, financial institutions, insurance, and annual filings
- Ability to identify, develop, measure, and present key performance indicators
- Accounts receivable invoicing
- Manage intercompany accounts and reconciliations
- Maintaining fixed asset schedules and transactions
- Preparing financing packages
- Preparing and posting journal entries
- Reviewing and resolving job costing related issues
- Reviewing and resolving job/inventory variances
- Cross training in other functional areas
- Liaise with non-finance departments to support overall company objectives
- Assist in the preparation of year-end files for submission to the external accountants
- Maintain an accurate and complete trail of supporting documentation for financial transactions
- Review, revise, and update internal reports to be more useful and efficient
- Ad hoc tasks and analysis from the Controller and CFO
